Predicative tools
Predicative tools are used to draw the attention (of the dog) to states of being, or doing, or specific actions. The simplest are actions such as 'sit', or 'get down', or my favourite, 'side' (pronounced 'sa-ied'), which I use to tell the dogs to go outside (if they are inside), or to come inside (if they are outside.) The same tool seems to work just fine for both purposes, albeit with quite different results.
Which means the dog is taking the context into account before responding to the request.
